Hope Island Kitchen Mould Infestation Restored

Biodec was engaged to address a mould issue discovered behind the kitchen of a residential property in Hope Island. What initially appeared to be a minor concern quickly revealed deeper contamination within wall cavities and surrounding structural elements.

Our team carried out a targeted assessment and installed full containment to isolate the affected area and prevent cross-contamination throughout the home. Once secured, we removed all mould-affected materials, including cabinetry backing and sections of wall lining.

To address moisture and stabilise the environment, LGR dehumidifiers and air filtration devices were installed. The exposed structural framework was then professionally treated to eliminate residual mould and prevent regrowth.
Following remediation and cleaning, the site was returned to a safe, dry condition and handed back to the builder for reinstatement.

Independent air testing confirmed elevated microbial loads within the habitable space. To ensure the remediation was carried out to the highest industry benchmark, Biodec Pty Ltd was engaged to perform works in accordance with IICRC S520 mould remediation standards.

Our remediation program included:

• Surface HEPA vacuuming and detailed surface cleaning to remove mould spores and particulates from accessible areas.
• Application of antimicrobial solution via fogging, allowing treatment of concealed or hard-to-reach locations.
• Deployment of air filtration devices (HEPA-equipped) to maintain safe air quality throughout the remediation process.
• Careful removal of all visible mould growth, ensuring both aesthetic and hygienic restoration.
