Biodec recently completed a mould remediation project at a Kingscliff apartment affected by long-term guttering issues. Ongoing water ingress had led to extensive mould growth throughout the property, impacting walls, ceilings, and concealed cavities.
After a detailed site assessment, our team developed a clear scope of works and began controlled demolition of contaminated materials, including plasterboard and insulation. Containment measures were put in place to prevent the spread of spores during removal.
Once demolition was complete, the structure was thoroughly dried using LGR dehumidifiers and HEPA air filtration equipment to stabilise moisture levels and eliminate conditions for further mould growth.
All affected areas were treated and cleaned in accordance with the IICRC S520 standard, ensuring the environment was safe and ready for the next stage.
The project was successfully completed and handed back to the builder for reinstatement.
Independent air testing confirmed elevated microbial loads within the habitable space. To ensure the remediation was carried out to the highest industry benchmark, Biodec Pty Ltd was engaged to perform works in accordance with IICRC S520 mould remediation standards.
